Cres

Cres Island

Those seeking for natural beauties are on the right spot as with its contrasting landscape of snowy peaks (during a winter), steep cliffs, lush forest, Vransko lake, a big natural reservoir of rainwater, Cres island is a stunning place offering one of the highest biodiversity rates among all the islands in the Mediterranean region.

If you are in no hurry, take yourself few hours and visit LUBENICE, an ancient fort city on the island of CRES, that was founded approximately four thousand years ago on top of a 380 m high ridge that overlooks the sea and enjoy spectacular views. Today it is a small local center that comprises forty buildings and only seven permanent inhabitants (most of them in their 80-ies, so info may not be up to date), but during the summer months it is very lively, hosting Lubenice musical evenings.

Hope you will find it interesting to discover even more beauties of CRES by yourself – the only motto to guide you is…No Stress on Cres!
